HNU believes that long engagement with communities and thorough knowledge of their local concerns, issues and problems is sufficient condition for sustainable development work. HNU works at community level with adaption of local resources including structures/institutions to ensure effective response to health, livelihood and education needs of women, men and children. Together create a voice to be able to demand and contribute to their social, economic and health needs.

Access to sustained care and treatment services

HNU works with the local government health care centres as well as private / NGOs to further scale-up ART and ensure facilities are operational in hard to reach places and developing community referral system. HNU promotes the link with the local government health units to ensure improved access to the inexpensive medicines needed to treat common infections and helped improve access to treatment among the affected and infected vulnerable communities.
